No playing around with toy makers, safety demanded
MEP Malcolm Harbour of the United Kingdom, the European People’s Party spokesman on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, said: “I assured the Commissioner that the EPP-ED Group would support her efforts to drive unsafe toys off the market. I also supported her work with the toy industry to ensure consistently high standards in product design and manufacture. European children will benefit from a thriving market in well designed, good quality and safe toys. We must encourage the good producers, wherever the toys are made.”
