On the day the No10 referendum petition reached 22000 signatories (it was under 30 eight days ago), Gordon Brown breached his promise to give British people a say on the EU Constitution which was signed in Lisbon today.
A week after the Labour-dominated European Scrutiny Committee concluded that Gordon Brown's supposed red-lines would "leak like a sieve" they were signed unamended by the Prime Minister.
Leader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament Timothy Kirkhope MEP said:
"Gordon Brown today had another opportunity to genuinely stand up for Britain's national interest. Once again he blew that chance and instead continued to peddle the myth that the new reform treaty he has signed is not the original, rejected European Constitution.
"The national interest can only truly be served if Gordon Brown delivers on the referendum he promised the British people."
