Brussels, 26th January 2009 -- Whilst the rightful leader of Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai, struggles to find a way of breaking Mugabe's grip on power the EU is introducing tougher measures against the Mugabe regime. The EU's Foreign Ministers - meeting in Brussels today - are due to finalise plans to add 28 individuals and 36 companies to a list of 167 Mugabe cronies who are banned from travelling to EU countries. For the first time, the list is expected to include European based firms.
